Protection of Personal data from Online Activities

NZ's Privacy Protection Act of 2020 does not specify the protection of Personal Data from online forums especially social media. The Privacy Protection Act should state that data must be obtained for specific purpose and only after subject has given unambigous and informed consent and that they can withdraw their consent at any time.

Why the contribution is important

With the adoption of social media platforms, these social media platforms failed to protect personal data and this is evident from data and privacy breaches occured in last 5 years.
